Alps touch pad

Alps touch pad
I used Device Doctor to install an update for my laptop touchpad (synaptics) I am using Vista
It is called Alps touch pad..after doing this I cannot access my mouse program in the Control panel and I recieve a message saying Windows host process Rundll32 has stopped working... any advice? and thank you for any that comes my way...

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles.

Please try to download latest driver from the website of your laptop manufacturer and install that one.

If that will not help, or instead of the above, Vista shall have created a restore point before installing the driver, try to restore the system to the state before driver installation:
Open System Restore by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking System Restore.‍ Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
