Error 7
Downloaded DD and tried to run a scan but it keeps saying...this application requires connection to the driver service.The exact error was: 7 could not connect to host. How to i fix this?

Could be a temporary network issue.

If it persists, check that your firewall (or some other security type of software) doesn't block Device Doctor from connecting to the internet, but not sure about that one - that should throw in another error: "This application requires an internet connection. Would you like to export .....and so on".

yes it does ask to export and if i hit yes it sends me to an offline retrieval page, but i'm online

What sort of router do you have? Is the router set to automatic IP and DNS?

Error7 can be caused if the server is timing out, often attributed to Memory issues. The control blocks of memory may have been destroyed. i would try Reseating your memory. You could also try defragging your mem by downloading Ram Def. (click on 'Download Now' left hand side of page)

Have you checked your firewall isn’t blocking DD database? You could also try updating your modem firmware. Have you tried rebooting the modem?
Have you cleaned out your system registry recently? if not download ccleaner and run a registry scan.

Plenty there to be going on with Smile

It may help us to shed more light of the possible causes if you can post your system info in your next post.

tried ram defrag..i should have no memory issues...using hp media center pc..firewall is set to allow..don't know about memory resettin or updating modem firmware..have atlantic bb connection that is always on

Have you cleaned your registry? what Modem are you useing? What OS are you on; XP, Vista, win7?
