Fisrt Time User and Drivers Aren't Working!!
I'm a first time user and I put the CD I purchased into the drive on my Gateway Model MX6027, P/N: 1MA20001007 S/N: T375A01007147,
Using Windows XP Home Edition, because I can't get my audio drivers to install after doing a recovery. I did a scan and it found that I needed updates and drivers to install. I followed the instructions and chose to use the software on the disk to install the drivers I needed. Afterwards, I tried to update the drivers that were listed but it just redirected me to Device Driver Download site. I tried to update again but it's asking me to purchase yet more software!!! I still have no sound and I cannot get any updates!!! PLEASE HELP:Huh

Device Doctor is a free software, which can be downloaded from this website for free, it's not to be sold anywhere.

That's how it works, it gives you download links for drivers on our website.

Not sure about this...maybe you overlooked the driver installer download links and only the advertisement caught your eye? We use ads to help cover part of the costs of running this website, but it's just a normal ad, you probalby only overlooked the driver download links on the same page?

Another option is to download your sound driver directly from the Gateway website.
You can download your Conexant audio driver from
http://support.gateway.com/support/drive...param=5377

After you download the installer and run it, what happens?

If you go to Device Manager in Windows and select the Conexant sound driver, does it report any error number?
