HP Officejet V40 printer driver(s) for Windows 7
We have an HP Officejet V40 printer we have used with XP for a few years. It worked great with that computer.
We recently had to replace our computer and obviously purchased one with Windows 7, 64 bit. When we attempt to print a document, we can print 1 page then it jams the printer port in some manner. I can delete the printer job and try again and it will print 1 page then jam the port again. I have checked the HP web site and it says they do not have any driver upgrades or any new drivers for this printer. Any information or suggestions on how I can correct this problem so we can print the entire document? Thank you. |

Please check whether you have downloaded the driver intended for your operating system version (Windows 7 64 bit), which is located on

When I check on availability of drivers/software for my printer, the screen I get shows the following. Based on this, it appears there is no update available for my printer. The printer was working fine on XP. The problem arose after we had to replace the XP computer with one with Windows 7. None of the troubleshooting descriptions I have seen so far describe the condition I am experiencing. Thank you very much. Support details Introduction A full feature software and driver package for Windows 7 is not available for your product. However, the Windows 7 operating system installed on your computer contains a basic driver solution for your product. With the basic driver, some of the advanced product features are not available. However, using the workaround procedures in this document, you can still print from a software program. You can also import and view images on a memory card, if your product has a memory card slot. Use the following instructions to install the basic driver in Windows 7, and then review the workaround procedures to use the available features for your product. |

Based on what I am seeing now, it looks like the only way I can print properly is to replace the printer with one compatible with Windows 7. If any one is aware of other options, please let me know. |
