Question about database size

There is a lot of confusion when it comes to measuring the database size, note that we talk about devices while others talk about files and drivers. Each driver can support many devices, while at the same time each driver is comprised of many files.

We actually support less drivers when compared to some of the commercial packages out there though we intentionally limit the size of our database to exclude some system devices (after beta test feedback).

At the end of the day each database has its pros and cons, there is no "best database" out there, just the best one for your particular configuration - sometimes a smaller database may contain drivers that are more relevant to hardware sold in your country, so trying a few hardware scanners is a good idea.
