Problems with USB modem
I have posted all over the place, but no one seems interested in answering. Hoping this forum might be the key. I just downloaded Device Doctor and ran it, hoping I'd find that I had a driver problem, but nothing came up. Here is the problem I've been working with for three weeks now.

This is regarding my Cricket modem. I've been through 3 A600 modems, and a UM185C. Cricket tech support has no idea. Pantech support says they don't always work in desktops. (I'm not so sure about that.) Went to Cricket Corporate store. They put it in WinXP laptop and it wouldn't work. (Supposed to be compatible) They put it in Win7 and it took off, so they put it back in the XP machine. She had to plug and unplug it several times, but it finally worked. Handed it back to me but it still doesn't work when I try it in my machine. (By the way, I have two WinXP SP3 computers and have tried both) All other USB devices are working. It's not in "My Computer" after software is loaded. The "Safely Remove" icon disappears after broadband software is loaded. However, it's still in the device manager. Under Network Connections, it shows up with a red X and says it's unplugged. Broadband software Options can't find it. So it's there but it's not there. Everyone I'm dealing with has thrown up their hands. I'm ready to give up, too, but that means back to my only other choice - 19k dialup. Can anyone give me any advice at all before I return this modem to the store, please?

Gayle
