Problems with USB modem

No surprise ideas I'm sorry:
Try to get some technician or someone technically proficient to look at it directly on your computer, someone else might look at it from different angle and maybe find out something you missed or have some new idea.
Fastest way would be to return it to the store and get a different modem.
Try non-usb modem if at all possible.
